How to walk this demo

Everything below is clickable right now, with every login printed where you need it. Nothing is hidden and nothing is real: no cards are charged, no texts or emails leave the box, printers and the card reader are simulated, and the whole thing resets when you leave.

The walkthrough — three hats, twelve stops

Chapter 1 · Run it as the owner

1
The five-minute setup. The wizard IS the install: name, hours, bays, pricing, launch. A real unit boots straight to this page.
/setup · password NORTHGATE-DEMO
2
Build your website. Pick a color preset and watch the site restyle. Open the Pages card: House Rules is published at /p/house-rules; Fall League is a draft — open it in a private window and it 404s, but signed in you see it with a gold DRAFT banner.
/admin-website · password demo
3
Set up your bays. Bay 1 carries +$4/hr; the Private Suite carries +$8/hr and shows the door-access picker (RemoteLock or UniFi Access — no console on the demo network, so Test Connection fails gracefully, exactly like the product with an unreachable console).
/admin → Bays
4
Build your menu. Add a draft beer at $6 — it lands in Drinks with tax handled per category.
/admin → POS Menu
5
Meet your staff. Three employees, each with a sign-in code. Two tiers: owners see everything, staff see the counter.
/admin → Staff
6
Memberships + Getting Started. Founding runs deposit mode with a 50% share discount; Family Club issues 4 pooled PINs. The Getting Started card tracks a new owner's remaining setup with live completion.
/admin → Members

Chapter 2 · Experience it as the customer

7
The website. The site you just edited, live — colors, events, staffed hours, House Rules in the nav, membership cards with real spots-left.
8
Join a membership. Pick Family Club, agree to the renewal terms (the demo refuses without consent — that's the product's legal enforcement), mock-pay, and receive four working PINs.
9
Book a bay. Type PIN 4417 first — member pricing and a longer window unlock. Pick the Private Suite for premium pricing; Mark's credit auto-applies at checkout. Try the gift card GIFT-DEMO50 in the discount box.
10
Self-service. Look up a booking (701-555-0142 / 123456) or sign into the portal as Mark Halvorson / 4417: next payment, family codes, credit, one-tap cancel.

Chapter 3 · Work it as the employee

11
Check in tonight's group. Sign in with 7301. On Today, Check In the 7 PM Halvorson deposit booking: count 3 golfers, put PIN 1204 on a seat. Shares, member discounts, deposit surplus to credit, and what to collect — all computed and attributed.
/staff · code 7301
12
Ring, split, pay, close. Ring an IPA and a pizza (kitchen and bar tickets render on screen), split the check three ways — pennies reconcile — tap the Demo Reader (processing → approved), print the 42-column guest check, then run End of Day: golf vs food-and-beverage, tax by category, per-employee totals.

How staff reach the counter on a real unit

The register lives at /staff on the facility's own network — the owner gives staff the address, they bookmark it or install it as a home-screen app on the counter tablet, and the keypad auto-locks like a register. It is deliberately not linked from customer pages. Remote staff access is a separate switch that ships OFF; /staff-offsite explains that story.

Every integration, and where to touch it

The complete list. Each entry says what it does, how it gets set up on a real unit, and where to play with it in this sandbox. Feature explanations only — full setup guides ship with a real unit.

IntegrationWhat it does & real-unit setupIn the sandbox
StripeOnline booking payments on the facility's own account (card-not-present). Refunds are double-refund-proof by design. Setup: paste your keys under Integrations.Book — no payment in demo
Stripe Terminal (S700)Card-present counter payments at the lower in-person rate. Setup: register the reader under Integrations; staff tap Collect.Staff → tab → Demo Reader
Stripe TaxOptional automatic tax per sale; otherwise per-category manual rates (golf / food / drinks). Revenue shows Tax Today / Month / Quarter.Admin → Revenue
RemoteLockCloud smart lock: every booking gets its own door code with owner-set lead/lag minutes, auto-revoked on cancel or move. Setup: connect the account, pick the door.Admin → Integrations
UniFi AccessLAN door controller alternative: per-booking Visitor + PIN on your own console, door groups, three-layer door resolution (facility + per-bay private rooms + member tiers). Needs keypad readers (UA G2 Pro). Setup: host + API token, Test Connection auto-detects the transport.Admin → Integrations (Test fails gracefully — no console on this network)
Shelly smart plugsBay power: on before the session, graceful PC shutdown then cut after. Live watts drive the bay pills. Setup: plug IP per bay in the Bay builder.Admin → Bays (fake-live pills)
BroadLink IRTVs and projectors join the TRUE on/off sequence via learned IR commands per bay.Admin → Bays
Resend (email)Confirmations, door codes, gift cards, welcomes, calendar invites — from the facility's own domain. Setup: verify domain, paste API key.Admin → Log (EMAIL_FAKED lines)
Twilio SMS (A2P)Registered 10DLC campaign for confirmations, reminders, door codes. Consent enforced at checkout; STOP footer on every template; /privacy and /sms-terms untouchable by the builder.Admin → Messaging (SMS_FAKED)
Star CloudPRNT printersKitchen / bar / receipt stations, each with its own poll URL — enter it in the printer once. Categories route tickets automatically.Admin → Test Print (renders on screen)
Calendar invites.ics + Google Calendar link on every confirmation; METHOD:CANCEL on cancellation so sessions clear themselves.Admin → Log after you book & cancel
Outbound webhooksURL + signing secret; events like giftcard.purchased, checkin.completed, booking.cancelled notify your own systems. Card shows the last delivery.Admin → Integrations
Home AssistantOptional bridge for anything else — lights, signage, HVAC scenes tied to bookings. Setup: HA URL + token.Admin → Integrations
PWA apps & kioskThe booking page and staff counter both install as home-screen apps; the kiosk page runs on a wall TV.Kiosk display · Staff

On the admin, staff, booking, and editor pages, tap the "How this works" button (bottom-right) for these explanations right where the feature lives.

Compatible hardware, by area

Verified against the shipping code — every protocol and integration point checked, not recalled. Hardware lists grow: confirm current compatibility at bacustomproducts.com.

AreaWorks withNotes
Simulator PCAny Windows PC running any simulator software — GSPro, ProTee, TruGolf Multisport, anythingDeliberately software-agnostic: the platform never touches what runs on the PC. Needs a fixed LAN IP, file sharing enabled, and a local account for remote shutdown. Sessions end with an on-screen warning and countdown (preview it), then a graceful shutdown; the box detects the PC being up or down and drives the live bay pills from it.
Bay powerShelly smart plugs & relays — Gen 1 AND Gen 2+ (Plug S, Plus Plug US, Plus 1PM, Pro line)Both generations speak natively. Wattage readout powers the live ON/OFF + watts pills; each device’s own Auto Turn Off flag is honored by the stop sequence. See the pills
TVs & projectorsBroadLink IR blasters — RM4 Pro / RM4 Mini classLearn each device’s on/off once per bay; the sequence engine and the staff/admin bay buttons fire them.
Card readerStripe Terminal server-driven readers — Stripe Reader S700 and BBPOS WisePOS ERegistered by pairing code; checks are pushed to the reader and the payment is webhook-confirmed — nothing is ever marked paid client-side. Tips mode supported. Try the demo reader
Receipt / kitchen / bar printersStar Micronics CloudPRNT models — mC-Print3, TSP654II CloudPRNT, TSP100IVPrinters POLL the box (one URL pasted into each printer), so there are zero inbound holes and it survives NAT/VLANs. Roles: counter, kitchen, bar — tickets route by role; 42-column standard 80mm. Test Print
Cash drawerAny printer-driven drawer (RJ12/DK port on the Star printer)No separate drawer hardware or wiring: the kick fires through the counter printer on cash sales, and every drawer event is logged with the signed-in employee.
Door access — cloud (single door)RemoteLock-platform locks — OpenEdge/ResortLock and partner locksPer-booking guest PIN with owner-set before/after windows, auto-revoked on cancel or move.
Door access — LAN (multi-door + groups)UniFi Access: a UniFi console running the Access app (UDM Pro/SE, Cloud Key Gen2+, UNVR), with keypad-capable readers on every coded door — UA G2 Pro or other PIN-entry modelsPer-booking Visitor + PIN on the facility’s own console, no cloud dependency. Important: a reader without a keypad cannot accept door codes — NFC/mobile-only readers do not fit the texted/emailed-PIN model. Doors resolve from three layers: facility, per-bay private rooms, and member tiers.
Climate & everything elseHome Assistant — any HA entityDocumented patterns: switches, and climate (comfort temperature before the session, eco setback after, with per-device lead/setback minutes). The catch-all for hardware not integrated natively.
Bay screenAny TV or monitor on the bay PCThe Simulator Watcher shows the bay screen full-screen: idle branding, then countdown warnings before shutdown.
MessagingTwilio SMS (A2P 10DLC) with automatic Bird fallback · Resend emailNot hardware, but always asked: compliance footers are hard-coded server-side and stated as non-adjustable in the editor.
HONEST LIMITS — NOT INTEGRATED

No raw ESC/POS network printers (CloudPRNT only) and no non-Star printer families. No barcode scanners, scales, or standalone cash drawers (printer-driven only). No camera/NVR ties. And no auto-launching of specific simulator titles per booking — what runs on the PC is the facility’s own business.
